Where did you get the ides for this book, which still gives me the twiches when I think about it?

The ideas come to me as I write, I don't really plan anything out in advance. I always know how the story will start and how it will finish but the part inbetween is usually a voyage of discovery. I have great faith in the characters I create and the ideas often come from them. This was especially true of Jack. Sometimes he would do something that really surprised me because it was something I hadn't thought of, it just seemed to happen by itself.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to read my question! I have never read your book before, but look forward to in the near future, since I do think it's a little too mature for me, being a teen. I did want to ask, since I enjoy writing thrillers myself, how do you create that poignant, raw, hauntingly beautiful effect in a book? How do you put that level of emotion into words, easy for the readers to comprehend?

First I want to say thank you, I loved this book! As did my bookclub! We had 3 questions...1) who gets married without having sex 1st these days - why wasn't it an issue for them or topic of their conversation? 2) what was he doing in Bangkok - sex with minors, murdering people, paying to mentally or physically torture people, or.....? 3) Who is playing them in the movie?!!!
