I'm so glad you enjoyed The Breakdown! A couple of years ago I wrote Behind Closed Doors and sent it off to several agents in the UK. It was picked up by the Darley Anderson Literary Agency who then found a UK publisher for me - HQ, a division of Harper Collins (HQ). It became very succesful in the UK, and US publishers began to show an interest in it too. Darley Anderson acted on my behalf in negotiations and it ended up being published by the wonderful team at St Martin's Press who, fortunately, also loved my next book, The Breakdown.

Hi Ms. Paris. Loved your book, Behind Closed Doors. I read a lot of books so is sometimes hard to remember all of them. I remember this novel and still is one of my favorites today if not my favorite. Where did you get the idea fir this novel? Did you know someone who went through a similar situation? One usually writes best about what they know. Thanks for considering my questions.
