What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Veronica Henry The best best best thing about being a writer is when you get a letter or email or message from someone who has been through a really tough time and has read one of your books and it's given them some respite from their troubles. That really does spur me on, to know that my books provide escape and comfort. It helps me focus too. I've had letters from people undergoing chemo, people who have been recently bereaved or gone through a traumatic break up, people who suffer from depression. I've even had letters from soldiers in war zones who've got hope from what I've written. That is a huge privilege.
