Goodreads asked Veronica Henry:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Veronica Henry I am lucky enough to live by the sea, so whenever I paint myself into a plot corner, I grab my miniature Schnauzer, Zelda (named after Zelda Fitzgerald), and we head off to the beach. She careers around in circles chasing seagulls while I mull over the finer points of the story, muttering to myself. By the time I reach the far end of the beach, somehow the characters will have sorted themselves out and pointed me in the right direction. I act the story out as I'm walking, which probably makes me look a bit bonkers - like Sarah Woodruff in the French Lieutenant's Woman. Though I don't wear a black cape.
