Caragh M. O'Brien Dear Salome,
When I care as deeply about a character as I do about Gaia, I continue to think about her and imagine that she and her loved ones are finding ways to survive and be happy. Also, it sometimes alarms me to look around our world and feel like the Birthmarked trilogy is more relevant than ever. Even so, I'm not planning to write another book for Gaia's story. Instead, I'm being pulled in the direction of a new writing challenge.

This is not a question so much as the thing I often say to those whom I am recommending your books: "The Birthmarked Trilogy is the best dystopia I have read and it is upsetting that it has been sitting below the mainstream radar. While the second in trilogies are generally the weakest part, that is not the case with Prized. It is the strongest book in the trilogy." Thank you for writing such great stories.
