Is your latest book from a story/character/idea you've had for a long time, or was it from a recent inspiration?

Sorry, never received a notification that I had a question pending. Had this idea for a long time. It was inspired by a dream, and the story is my attempt to explain what was happening. I rarely remember dreams, so when I do, it's usually important for me to try and figure out why. Thanks for asking!
