A Goodreads user asked R. Cooper:

R... I was doing some homework (job hunting in Washington state) and ran across the town of North Bend. Scenes of mountain ranges and small towns often remind me of Wolf's Paw. Was Washington on your mind when you created Nat Neri's home town? Just asking.

R. Cooper I've never been to Washington, sadly. Pictures of the northern parts of the Pacific Northwest always look so gorgeous (and I do love a rainy day). Technically (I think), I live in the Pacific Northwest, but the very southernmost part... and probably not by some definitions. Redwoods, coast, rain, foothills and mountains. It's more of an Everlasting vibe than a Wolf's Paw vibe, to be honest.

Wolf's Paw is more of a generalized Northern California area. If you go far enough north, the state get less and less populated and everything becomes trees.

But, wow, now I want to visit Washington's coast even more. :)
