A Goodreads user asked Heather Burch:

How do I market to what I really believe will be a solid readership on a shoestring budget? I've had great success with a very small audience. (I LOVE your answer to the question, "What's your advice for aspiring writers?" My first novel was a fictional account of how I found my own voice, and like Harlan Sanders and Grandma Moses, it came to me in middle age, so social media is not necessarily my forte!)

Heather Burch Hi Judith! I think one of the main keys to building a solid readership is to be willing to offer a bit of yourself in your marketing. There are many writers who began late in life and didn't have a lot of experience with the social media world. But think of all the wonderful things you have to offer... like life experience, advice on topics that your readers would be interested in, and even encouragements from someone who has been down the road they may be traveling. Age is a wonderful advantage! Experience is a marvelous help-mate! Best of luck on your journey! And keep me informed on how it goes.
