The story mostly takes place at Kilauea Volcano, and is about an unusual cast of characters thrust together by circumstance, who must navigate living in a remote rainforest hideaway while the world falls apart around them. Kilauea Military Camp was home to the main Japanese detainment site during the war.

I love books inspired by place. I wrote a book set in a little town on the coast of Oregon beginning during WWII ( my favorite subject). I am moving to Kauai shortly and hope to write about the history there. Other than the Kauai Historical Society, any thoughts on resources, particularly related to WWII? PS. I absolutely loved "Red Sky Over Hawaii" and have requested your other books.
