Do we know why Frederick was so pushed by his family to attend the Nazis school where he obviously did not belong?

I think the mother's general attitude and what she said about her neighbor (the "Jewess") came off like she was actively involved in the Nazi party somehow.

But maybe I read too much into that. (less)
