I started watching Bones and within a couple seasons I noticed they were based off of novels so I got really excited. I have only read Virals and loved it. What was your inspiration for writing Virals? (Also, you should make an appearance in a Bones episode!)

Kathy Reichs The inspiration came when my daughter got married in Turks and Caicos. During the trip my son adopted a "potcake" puppy named Turk. Soon after returning to North Carolina, Turk caught parvovirus. We'd frantically tried to learn everything we could about the virus when he was sick, and the idea for the series sprang from there.
