Hi Lisa! I loved Before We Were Yours! I live in Waco and met you through One Book One Waco and Gourmet Gallery. I was also so sorry I missed you recently at the Hewitt library. When will your next book be coming out and what is it???

Hi Gail, I'm so glad you loved my story. I miss those Gourmet Gallery gatherings and the yummy food there. You might watch my website for a possible event not far from Waco in the spring. We won't know for a while yet, but I'll put it on my Appearances page on the website if it is scheduled. The next book will be in about a year. It's also a story based on some little-known history in the early 1900s. Happy reading! Lisa
Gail, I'll be in Clifton November 10 and do a keynote speech for their book festival at Bosque Art Center. You can watch their website or call them for more details in about July if you'd like to come.
Update: My next book comes out in October and is already listed online for preorders and your local bookstore can get it in. Before and After by myself and Judy Christie tells the real life stories of some of the Georgia Tann adoptees.
And, my next historical novel manuscript is on the way to the editor. It has some fascinating history in the post Civil War era. I don't have a final title or a pub date yet, but you could visit my website and sign up for the newsletter so I can keep you in the loop.

I am in love with your Carolina series!! So far I've read "The Prayer Box" and "The Story Keeper". Each one has left me feeling uplifted and encouraged! "The Prayer Box" actually helped motivate me to start my own prayer journal, and was paramount in rekindling my prayer life. Do you keep any kind of prayer box or journal? What do you find most helpful in maintaining your own prayer life?

Lisa...Judy Stanford was named that by her adoptive parents, the Staffords. Since Avery Stafford is her grand daughter, it is assumed that Judy Stafford married at one point and had a son whose name was also Staffird. Did Judy marry a man with last name Stafford so she became Judy Stafford Stafford. I’m confused as to how Judy Stafford’s name carried over to her son??? Please clarify. I loved the book!
