Gracynn
Gracynn asked L.C. Perry:

How did you come up with your ideas for your books? (I have started writing a story but I don't know what else to add. My story is titled "Dream Firefighter the story of Dawson Exavious".)

L.C. Perry I tend to get my inspiration and ideas from all over the place. With my novels, my ideas develop from a mixture of tv shows I've watched, books I've read, music I've listened to, etc. I might even get inspired by a topic that's been covered in one of my classes! Because I get these ideas from so many different sources, it's sometimes hard for me to say exactly where I get the idea from, but I usually ask myself, "What works for me that I've seen from other works and how can I make it my own?" or "What is an idea I personally have not seen yet and want to see written?"

In my published stories, I've gotten my ideas from shows like Avatar, other YA novels, anime, and I even used preferences from readers to help develop ideas. If you are stuck on your story, I would focus on trying to get inspired from what you see, read, and listen to. There are ideas everywhere, it's just a matter of trying to find them. I hope this helps and good luck! :)
