I just wanted to say how much I love your books. It never gets boring! I’m currently reading Never Look Away and I’m gripped. Where do you get the inspiration for your books from?

Thanks for the kind words! Contracts are wonderful inspiration! You fail to deliver your book and you have to pay back some money. But to be serious, I most often find inspiration in every day events, and how they might go horribly wrong. I think I'm basically an anxious person, so I tap into that anxiety when I am looking for plot ideas.

Congratulations on your great success Mr. Barclay. I have to marvel at how you can continuously come up with new, different and compelling themes in a (relatively) short period to keep producing-by contrast, I endured about 4 years of Balkan upheaval just to come up with the full story for my new novel about Macedonia. So: what's your strategy in planning for future books? How far ahead do you create structures?
