What triggered to start writing? Were you inspired by your wife, or was it something you had always done, except not professionally? What was your previous line of work?

Michael Grant We were broke. We'd spent 10 years doing various dead-end jobs, finally got really sick of it. My wife said, "We should get careers." I asked what career she had in mind. She said, "We should write."

So I said, "Cool." So we started writing.
