Samit Basu Hi Alby! Sorry it took me so long to respond, I haven't been active on Goodreads at all. For Simoqin, the insipiration was really every book I'd ever read in my first 22 years, but if I had to look at what influenced it most, I'd say Discworld, world myth, and... actually, every book I'd ever read, and every film I'd ever seen as well. Learning to tell stories in any medium is a matter of patience and practice, and I assure you I wasn't writing at all when I was your age.
