Goodreads asked Nyla K.:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Nyla K. The best thing about being a writer is having the ability to create a whole world from your imagination and bring it to life. I started writing with no intention of ever letting anyone else in the world read my stuff. I've always loved writing, but I used to write only magazine editorials, op-eds, etc. I didn't necessarily consider myself a "fiction writer", until I realized how many days I would just sit on the train, staring off into space with ideas rushing through my mind. I had the idea for Midnight City and I just decided to run with it. And it changed my entire life.
Being a writer is a way for me to escape from the stresses of my every day life. I love to read. I'm interested in so many genres of fiction, but romance and erotica really grabbed my attention. When I write, I end up rereading my own work hundreds of times over, because I get so attached to my characters and their stories. It's like they're a part of me, that I created. Being a writer is the best thing in the world, and being a reader is a close second.
