Why would you think that a 14 year-old shouldn't read your adult books?Is it because it's too gruesome?Or because the language is too mature?Thank you!

Darren Shan They're not really any more gruesome than my YA books, but it's a different, more realistic type of violence, plus there's mature language, plus scenes of a sexual nature. I never put a definitive age guide on any of my books -- I'm sure there are 14 year olds and even younger who have read my adult books and been able to deal with them -- but as a general rule of thumb I say about 15 or 16 years upwards.
