Shannon Tuttle
Shannon Tuttle asked Michael Robotham:

I recently read the entire Joe O'Loughlin series and adored it! I hope to see more of Joe in the future. Thank you for all of your hard work and creating such interesting characters. After finishing The Other Wife, I started reading Life or Death and was surprised and thrilled that not only was it set in Texas but it also featured The Woodlands which is my hometown. What made you want to write a book based in Texas?

Michael Robotham Life or Death began with a small newspaper story about a man who escaped from prison the day before his expected release. I decided to set it in the US because America has a great history of prison based or inspired stories such as The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Initially I planned to set in in Arkansas and spent several weeks in the Ozark Mountains researching locations until I realised I needed a more urban setting. I was touring a new novel in Texas and used that time to change the locations. I'm really pleased you enjoyed it. Happy reading.
