Always focus on craft. Beginning writers often get swept up in the "glamour" of being published, and spend most of their time researching agents, working on their website, etc. But the only way to really get ahead is to write a brilliant book. Then, publishing comes naturally.

As a first impression, the book cover and title is obviously extremely important. Your Madman's Daughter series excel in both, so my question is... How do you come up with the titles for your books, and how do you choose the cover art? Do you start out writing with the right title and an idea of what everything should look like?
