Elissa B asked Megan Shepherd:

What advice do you have for writing a book like The Madman's Daughter?

Megan Shepherd The Madman's Daughter involved a lot of research. Because it was a retelling, I looked into HG Wells and what he wanted to say with The Island of Dr Moreau. I also did a lot of research on the historical time period, and on Victorian-era science. But mostly, I was trying to capture the feel of a historical novel with prose that felt more modern.
