Grant asked Garon Whited:

Why doesn't Erick make a full suit of armor like the cloak of nothing. The armor his nights wear are basically just salvage from an old police station so they shouldn't be the most advanced think Erik could find. Why doesn't he and his pet skynet make the absolute strongest lightweight suit of armor he can then have LOS work his magic so it can alter its shape to suit his needs. A true universal outfit right?

Garon Whited First off, the cloak is a product of the Lord of Shadow and an experiment. Making a suit of armor that is a permanent (or even a temporary) "hole" into nothingness has severe technical problems--like falling into the ground. There's a lot of R&D that goes into these things and neither of them has time for that, at least so far.
The armor his knights wear is about an order of magnitude better than the steel armor they were wearing, being both lighter and stronger, so they don't need an upgrade (although they do tend to enchant their armor, as well).
Finding upgraded armor beyond that isn't too hard for Diogenes. It's actually a problem, really. Diogenes *keeps* finding new suits for him, so he doesn't bother to enchant one. (He mentions this in Book Six, by the way.) Why enchant this one when Diogenes will just have a better composite material next week or next month? Upgrading the Knights of Shadow, though, becomes equally problematic since by the time he sets them up to mass-produce replacement suits, there will be a newer suit... and the cycle continues. Their current equipment is superior, so there's no need to pursue more esoteric upgrades.
