Don't quit! I definitely think the most important part of being a new writer is getting your thoughts onto paper. You can always edit when you're done and then pay somebody to edit it for you again. What's important is writing a cohesive story with engaging characters. Find a mentor, make friends who are authors. And most importantly, with whatever you write, make sure you are being true to yourself.
