Hello, Jayne - I'm wondering, as a Black girl growing up in the Detroit, what books/novels really impacted you as a child? Also, what are you reading right now?

Jayne Allen Hi Dna! I was really impacted by Alice Walker, "The Color Purple" and I read a lot of Stephen King as a child (creepy, I know, but LOVED his stories). I also was impacted by "Waiting to Exhale" as a depiction of contemporary life of black women that didn't just focus on historical trauma.

I'm updating my bookshelf now, and will try to do a better job of keeping it updated! So you can see what I've read, what I'm reading, and what I'm planning to read, both new and old books!
