Hello! I love all of your books, but The Sharing Knife series is my favorite. I first read it while my partner and I were coming out and figuring out dealing with families, and it really helped me during that time. We are planning to make things legal soon, and I'd really like to use the Lakewalker wedding vow from Beguilement in our ceremony and possibly on our announcements. Would that be ok, if we attribute it?

We have done a cosplay of Miles and Ekaterin based on written descriptions and some imagination (it helps that my other half is 5" taller than I am) but we also want to do a generic Vor couple. I want to portray a Major in ImpSec, but I cannot find a full listing of the ranks with collar tab colors in any wiki. Do you have it all written out? Also, from my lady: What do Vor ladies wear routinely?

I just saw that the Sharing Knife universe is not, as I had always assumed, a (very) post-apocalyptic descendant of our own. Certain cultural details, like the birthday cake (complete with candles) as well a the plants and animals made it feel like it was closely related to our Earth. Do you see it as an alternative history version of Earth, and if so, when did the timelines split? Or has it always been its own place?
