You have listed Isaac Asimov in your influences section. I am having a hard time getting around reading his books. And that's because I don't know where to start and I have never read any Sci-Fi before. SO, would you please recommend me a good first book to read written by Isaac Asimov? Short stories I believe are easier to get into for a reader. World building is minimal and characterization is to the point, it stays on pure merit of strength of story. If you can't get into this, then the author is not for you. :)
