Goodreads asked Abhishek Ghosh:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Abhishek Ghosh For me to write, The Paradise Conflict, I have taken quite a few inspiration from real-world issues and storytelling techniques. From the real world, I have taken the inspiration of the water crisis and environmental exploitation at its core all around the globe by setting the political background of a Totalitarian regime with inspiration from George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four. The main motive of the rebels in the book is to restore Mother Nature back to its roots with a balance of belongingness.

There are inspirations like:

· 2019 Amazon Rain Forest – As in the book, I have mentioned vaguely as the Great Fire

· Smog and Air Pollution problems all around the major metropolitan cities – In the book, I have mentioned it as the Great Smoke like the Delhi Pollution

· Water management issues in the developing countries – In the book, I have pushed the events further, if there is an extreme case of availability of water and put under control by a Totalitarian Regime, similar to that of Big Brother from George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty Four
