I've always loved sci-books and books that make you think and you seem to have an unending supply of ideas. As a teenager (many moons ago) I managed to read and actually have still got all of Robert Heinlein's books and think you as equally talented. How long does the process take from start to finish on one of your books?

Hi Blake. I really enjoy stories that I can just sit and absorb, with no predictability as to what might happen in the next chapter, or in the final act. Recursion is the epitome of this. So my question to you is: In a story with continuously intertwined timelines and possible character arcs, did the plot design differ from your initial drafts verses what it became as your finished novel?
