Dark Matter is THE book that got me into reading and will forever hold a spot dear to me. I can't fathom how someone can even think of a plot like that. How long did it take? From the beginning of thinking of the story, how it would go, and then publishing it?

I got the idea in late April of 2014 (although versions and pieces of it appear in my brainstorming journals going back as far as 2012). My last work on the ms. was in October of 2015. It was published July 2016.

I want to go back, way back, to the book that first got me reading your work, Wayward Pines. Did you get to pick the narrator and how he read the book? I was hooked on his intensity and how he read with such a quick pace that I was on the edge of my seat and could not stop. Did you make that choice, because it was amazing! Plus, I loved that book and series!
