Is it better to read the series about Joe in order?

Michael Robotham Each book is written as a standalone, so they don't have to be read in order. The only small advantage is that Joe ages in real time, along with his family, so you see the progression in the storylines. In the first book his daughter Charlie is 8. In the last book she is 20.
