What drew you to write when you already had a profession? I loved the Virals for young readers but the visual of the South Carolina coast-so beautiful. No questions just continue writing from your professional background I enjoy your style, from another Chicagoan.

Kathy Reichs I had just been promoted to full professor at UNCC, and I was free to do whatever I chose. I had just worked on a serial murder case which had some very intriguing elements, so I thought I would use that the basis for a story. I thought writing a novel might bring my science to a larger audience.
