Gerard O'Reilly asked Alice Oseman:

Hi Alice, firstly I wanna say I really liked Radio Silence, I am currently in college and it helped me a lot. I was wondering how many words per day you wrote when you started writing, how consistent were you and how do you keep going even when you think that your writing is trash? Also, how many drafts does it take for you before you are happy with your book? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you, Gerard

Alice Oseman That's so sweet, thank you so much!

I don't write a certain number of words per day - I just don't schedule my writing time like that. I'm not very consistent, I tend to write a lot in big chunks of time and then I don't write anything for another big chunk of time.

You have to keep going when you think your writing is bad because they only way to improve it is to actually have something to work on - something is better than nothing!

The number of drafts I have varies a lot! It could be anywhere from four to twelve or more.
