How do you deal with writer’s block?

Lara Van Hulzen I deal with writer's block by walking away from my computer. I know that sounds odd. Most writers say they just plow through and come up with something. But writing for me doesn't only happen when I sit in front of a manuscript. I'll go watch a movie or walk through a museum or have a picnic in a park and people watch and play the "what if" game. When I'm out living life is when I get ideas, when I think most about my writing, my characters. I write down the ideas I come up with then bring those to my computer to work.
