I absolutely loved God Save Texas. Have your feelings about Texas changed at all since you released the book? Has anyone given you any gruff about the way that you portrayed Texas and Texans?

Lawrence Wright Actually, for the most part, Texans have been the biggest fans of the book. I think they respond to my love of the state, despite its flaws. The big change in the state, of course, is the collapse of oil. It's happened before, many times, but this one is severe and the shakeout is going to change our state profoundly.

How do you push and probe for information in your interviews without leading your subject in a certain way? Do you provide questions ahead of meeting and/or follow up interviews?
