Rose Reid asked Nenia Campbell:

Nenia, I think it's absolutely incredible that you've done such an amazing job marketing yourself and your self-published novels! What advice do you have for other authors trying to replicate your success and find their footing in this world?

Nenia Campbell Thank you! I would advise authors to always be nice to their readers, even (especially) the critical ones. Sometimes the suggestions that are hardest to hear are the most on point. But on that note, it's equally important not to take your positive reviews for granted, either. Showing a little gratitude goes a long way and that someone took the time to review your work is so huge. I think it's also important to be authentic. When authors engage on social media, they should be themselves and chat about things aside from their work. I saw this piece of advice in a book that said you should only promote yourself in about 10% of the content you post, max, and I try to take that to heart. And lastly, I think it's important to remember that even if you do all this, there are still going to be some people who don't like you or your books and that's fine, too. 🙂
