Is there a sequel to "Before We Were Yours" ? I truly loved the book and the strong characters.

Lisa Wingate There is the follow-up non-fiction book, "Before and After" by Judy Christie and me. It tell the life experiences of Georgia Tann adoptees and their families, reunions and disappointments, etc. I don't plan another novel related to "Before We Were Yours." My next historical fiction was released in April and was immediately on the NYT Best Selling list. "The Book of Lost Friends" is about families separated and found following the Civil War. I think you'll love these characters also.

"Before We Were Yours" was SO captivating, I looked forward to the next possible evening's reading!! I read more slowly as a seasoned adult, savoring every detail, but there was one character whose outcome escaped me: the one closeted? I'm not one to read books that leave me wishing I'd never known. Your capture of this story was so redemptive and I'm recommending it! Sea Glass Sisters--also Wonderful!!! Devoted.

“The Book of Lost Friends” has so much that stays with me as a reader. The school scenes with Benny were so real: The kids with raised hands, “Oh, oh!” and then speaking without permission. Aunt Sarge telling Benny that the good teachers always leave. Lisa, your mom Sharon was my colleague in OK years ago. Are those school examples from your own experience, or maybe from your mom?
