Hazel Prior Hi Desiree. So glad you loved it! I combined a few different inspirations to write this book. First: penguins! I have a friend who is obsessed with them and she put this idea into my head. I realised penguins are charming and funny but also have a lot to teach us about resilience and determination. Second: environmental issues. I just love the natural world and I'm concerned about the state of the planet. Third: older people. I've met so many women in their eighties and nineties who are still embracing adventures. I admire their unstoppable spirit and I wanted to give a message of hope for us all in later life.
