Patrickmalka asked Paul Tremblay:

Hi Mr. Tremblay, I've noticed you tend to keep your ratings to 4 or 5 stars. Does this come from a careful choosing of the books you read or more of a "if you can't say something nice..." kind of philosophy? I ask because your ratings and even more, your tremendously generous blurbs have become a marker of quality for me and my own reading selections. Thank you for that. I hope all is well.

Paul Tremblay Hi, Patrick. Once being in the still-can't-wrap-my-around position of having people take my recommendations seriously, I decided I would be in the business of promoting books I like and not posting negative reviews, especially if it's goodreads (if hired to write a review, I would write about my honest take on a book). So yeah, if I read something that I don't like, i don't add it to goodreads. No shade to anyone who posts about not liking a book, I just feel weird about it doing it now with eyeballs on me.
