Great to see an author from my neck of the woods get published. Congrats-which one of the character in your books most resembles you(?) and how do you write dialogue(?) as my seems very corny or stiff when I try to write. Stay warm-if that is possible

Aurora Dimitre Hi!

When it comes to what character in my books most resembles me... I'm going to have to say Zeke from One More Sad Song. Not in terms of anything obvious or physical (I am not a sixteen-year-old skateboarder in love with my best friend, for instance), but something about writing Zeke felt so familiar and comfortable to me; I drew a lot of his emotional reactions to things directly from my own reactions to things.

Dialogue is a fun thing, and something I do think I'm pretty good at--one thing that I try to focus on is making each character sound consistent, and, if possible, completely distinct from one another. Another thing to do to improve dialogue is to listen to how people talk--something that's a little harder to do ATM, but even at the grocery store, eavesdrop a little!

Thank you for asking, and ha, I'll try to stay warm!
