Hi Ms. Nielsen! Have you read any fanfictions for the Ascendance series? I just read the one that won the contest on your blog and wondered how you feel about fanfiction! (ps, author of that fanfiction if you’re out there, I liked it so much and never thought I’d agree with a Roden/oc ship. The jarogen scenes were perfect!)

Jennifer A. Nielsen I think fan fiction is a great training ground for emerging young writers. Because the world and characters are already built, the writer can focus on plot and dialogue. I haven't read any of the Ascendance fan fictions, but I consider it a great honor to know that so much talent has been applied to these characters. For the record, Sage would be honored.
