Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Meagan Macvie I attended a community writing group at my local bookstore. The group leader asked us to write our first memory. I wrote my memory but came up with an alternative character name and fudged details I couldn't remember. That was the moment my future main character, Meri, entered the world. Though I didn't end up using that early bit of writing in the book, I will be forever grateful to that group for awakening that first glimmer of story.
