What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Deva Fagan Alas, my life is not all that mysterious! I think the most exciting mystery to me is what it would have been like if I'd made different choices at various points in my life. If I'd decided to study abroad somewhere during college, for example, or if I'd studied biology or history rather than mathematics/computer science. If my parents hadn't moved us away from California when I was in first grade.

In a way, writing books is a way to answer those mysteries, to explore different lives and experiences, including the ones that aren't necessarily possible in the real world, like exploring cursed magical forests or running away to join an alien circus.
