Kate, I’ve read maybe 150 books since the start of the pandemic and Radium Girls is still my favourite. Such a sad and harrowing story, but immensely interesting and so well written and researched. Can’t wait for your next book!?

Hi Kim! Sorry for slow reply - I've not been able to work this summer so only catching up now! Thank you so much for your very kind comments about The Radium Girls. (And wow re 150 books - that's impressive! I can't believe my book is your favourite from all of those!)
I'm not sure if you've read The Woman They Could Not Silence yet, but that was the book I wrote and published after The Radium Girls. It has some similar themes so I hope you enjoy it if you read it. It tells the true story of an American housewife from the 1860s who is sent to an insane asylum by her husband just because she disagrees with him... As for a book after that, I'm currently researching possible ideas, so watch this space.
Wishing you much happy continued reading with the next 150 books!

I'm reading THE WOMAN THEY COULD NOT SILENCE and its brilliant. RE: Radium Girls. I'd check into where they got the idea for that book.... They include the dial-painters. Making fictional characters based on real people is usually how it works in Hollywood. Your agent might want to do a little research?

I'm a post grad medical physicist & my husband is retired regional head of nuclear medicine, radiation protection advisor & member of the UK NAIR team. Your physics is totally wrong - wrong at the most basic level. Gamma rays are the LEAST damaging as they deposit less energy on transit through tissue. Beta PARTICLES deposit more energy and alpha PARTICLES deposit the most energy and are the most dangerous. Why?
