Hi John, Re The One (I enjoyed it); Im curious if you wrote any other storylines that didn’t make it into your self or house published versions. (And why not?) I read in an earlier response you had thought to cut Jade’s story; did you have a replacement? Did you think about cross-religion/race/ethnic/culture pairings? Or would that potentially be too much to get mired down in, or too cliché, or…? Thanks.

John Marrs Thanks Rachel. I did have another character in mind that I started writing a few chapters of but felt that her story was too dark to include. I was thinking of axing Jade because I worried that five couples might be too much for readers to remember and invest in. And yes, I did think of different pairings based on race and religion but then I decided against it. I felt I'd be including them in the book just because I felt like I should be doing so, rather than because I really wanted to. And I can't write books on that basis. Hope that helps!
