Hi Paul. I'm infatuated with Cabin at the end of the world, and only just now realised that the movie is coming out soon. (Excited AF) When I read the book and I was around 30% in I thought to myself, hot damn, this would make a great movie. The pacing and plot development, reveals, are all just perfect for a movie. So my question is, did you write the book with a film adaptation in mind?

Thanks for reading, Francois. I never write a book/story with adaptations in mind. I write trying to make it the best book I can. If the opportunity for adaptation comes later, great. If not, that's okay too.

Hello! Just emerging, shaken, from The Cabin at the End of the World, and bought a couple more of your books. Thanks for the excellent writing! I hate ambiguous endings but found this one entirely justified. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the movie's divergence from the book's plot; from what online interviews I could find, you haven't said much about it? (It seems to me to be quite a different story!)
