Delanie Eisele
Delanie Eisele asked Elle Kennedy:

As an author how do you come up with your characters?

Elle Kennedy Great (and difficult) question! Usually, I come up with a premise first, and then my brain just conjures up the character archetype that fits best for that plot. And then once I have one character, the others just sort of fall into place. So when I know who the heroine is (dorky girl, badass assassin, sarcastic girl next door, etc.) then I figure out what her hero would be like, what she sees in people, who she’d surround herself with. And then, of course, you gotta figure out the background characters who’ll help progress the story. Character building is actually a lot of work. But it’s so much fun.
