Jeanni, first of all I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience. When you research a publisher, get in touch with people they've previously published. Every reputable publisher will have a list of their titles on their web page. Secondly, check out Preditors and Editors, a very helpful website with lots of information for pre-published writers. You should be able to make a better decision after these steps.

Read Sookie Stackhouse, even read the companion book. Did you ever regret the way some of her relationships ended? Quinn, for example. Her and Eric's ending was also sad. Sometimes you just have to follow where the character leads you. Was that your process? Was it your decision to have her beau be unknown at the end of the tv series? Thank you for such a great character! Love your work, you continue to get my money;)

I've seen you state that you have to wait till or if your publisher requests for you to write more books in a series. Is that how it is for all your book series? If you have an idea, something you think might really work/add to a series can you pitch it to someone? How does that process work? And what's your process when you come up with a brand new idea for a book or series? Thanks!! :)
