Lois McMaster Bujold:
Thank you for your life's work. I have been especially taken by the world of the five gods. I just reread Masquerade in Lodi and remain slightly puzzled on P/D's move to Adria. The reasons for his leaving are clear enough -- loss of his two mothers; new archdivine with sorcerer; mismatch with the role of sorcerer-physician etc. But why Adria? D's interest in going there? Met the archdivine of Adria somewhere?
Lois McMaster Bujold
Pen had met the archdivine of Adria at a Temple conclave in Carpagamo a few years back that he'd attended in his own princess-archdivine's train. I've always felt that event and setting ought to have a story-worthy plot attached, but I've never been able to come up with one. So a combination of reasonable proximity, some acquaintance, and, as many people anxiously circulating resumes find the clincher, an actual offer.
Also, warmer climate.

You may have had this question before, but here goes: this wonderful garden at the Viceroy's palace which Ekatherin has designed, is it made out of Sergyaran native plants or imported plants? If the plants are imported, how to keep them from spreading out into the Sergyaran countryside? And if the plants originate from Sergyar, how did Ekatherin know which ones to use and so on, seeing as the planet is "brand new"?

Lois McMaster Bujold:
I was just recommended Paladin's Grace by T Kingfisher, have read it and really enjoyed it - the romance with the protagonists tripping over their own feet and the baggage from their pasts reminded me of A Civil Campaign. I thought you might enjoy it so came to see if you'd already read it - and found you are already listing almost everything by T Kingfisher - except Paladin's Grace. So, a new one for you?
