Goodreads asked Lydia Michaels:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Lydia Michaels All of it! I'm fascinated by words, their beauty, their malleability, their strength, their impact. The fact that words can be strung together in a way that can bring tears to another human's eyes is simply incredible to me. Words are enchanting and powerful. They can end wars and start them. They can stir or cure years of anguish. They are little bits of sounds clumped together to form meaning and clumped again to build implication... clump them enough and you have a novel--beginning, middle, and end with worlds of secrets hidden in between. Words are so magical, they can even carry meaning in the blank spaces that separate them. Fascinating.

I also like that I can go to work in PJs ;)
