Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Theodora Goss Well, it's not quite my most recent book, but it's the book I'm working on right now. The answer is: my doctoral dissertation! I wrote my doctoral dissertation on 19th century monsters, and that's the book I'm working on . . . It's about girl monsters at the turn of the century, and it's a lot more fun than academic research.
